I've done
video marketing for a couple of years. I am proficient at
writing scripts and doing voiceovers that get leads, make clear
presentations and create trust. I use video extensively
in my own marketing projects. Copywriting covers all
writing and scripting - some people prefer to read, others to
listen, and others to watch. The more senses your
marketing engages in general the larger the numbers of people
it will engage.
You can use
video effectively to increase brand awareness and drive traffic
from video-sharing sites like YouTube - what I don't generally
recommend (even though I can be caught doing it myself here and
there) is hosting your direct-response videos on YouTube or
other sites.
The
problem issue with YouTube and similar free-to-use video
hosting sites is you surrender control of the video bit-rate
and compression. While your video may look
spiffy to you on a wired broadband connection - YouTube videos
are often choppy, starting-and-stopping which is annoying
to people on slower connections like wireless laptop
connections.
In order to
make video most effective on your site for generating leads or
comunicating with your customers the best solution (and not
costly to do) is to host them yourself on a rented hosting
account. Compared with the cost in lost-business from
alienating prospects with choppy video self-hosting is a
bargain.
