Health and Diet
I have to agree with marketing master Ted Nicholas - your family and health are a lot more important than any business project. Keep health and family a top priority and you'll always be a success, even when you have setbacks in your business activities.
I don't have anything profound to offer about family. I guess it's a good idea to treat them like you would want to be treated. I'm friends with my parents - a lot of people aren't - so that's a real blessing and something worth cultivating.
Most people respond to a little understanding. I seem to recall some sort of song about that. A little kindness and praise goes a long way towards making me feel good so I reckon giving kindness and praise to others is a good way to be.
Don't let people push you around. Don't let arrogant people change you into one of them. They are common in the business world. There are times when it is necessary to have "Thick Face, Black Heart" (a book about mental toughness) but don't let that kill the child in you. Creativity and fun comes from being able to be a kid in some ways. Don't let life turn you into a meanie. Even if you make a lot of money I doubt it's much fun being a hard-ass with no sense of play.
Eating
I'm a vegetarian and I recommend it. Getting a victory over food is a big, big deal. Most people are ruled by food and many don't know it. The best way I know to conquer the enslavement of sense-pleasures is to give up eating meat. From there it becomes very easy to see many things more clearly. This is admittedly obscure. I like animals and have no lust for eating them. I recommend you give a meat-free diet a real, sincere try. You'll lose some unwanted pounds and all probably expell some demons of small-mindedness and cruelty from your soul. Truly liberating . It can take a few years of not eating meat to truly love a vegetarian diet... but at least in my experience you get to love yourself and the creatures of the world in a new way when your survival isn't dependent on killing them to eat their bodies.
I ate meat nearly every day for 23 years. I made a conscious choice to give it up. It was a decision. To make such a choice and stick to it is not easy for most people - yet choosing how you are going to eat is critical to self-realization. I honestly do not think that you can truly master your own self unless you can master your own eating and sex appetites. Work with the diet first - the sex part is a less-challenging study if the diet part is taken care of.
YOGA
I have practiced Hatha Yoga in several forms since 1993. In 2005 I started studying QiGong, a Chinese form of internal Yoga. I recommend both for health and feeling good in your whole body and mind.
I am enthusiastic about these subjects and if you want to talk about it feel free to call me and we'll chat. 310-359-8494.
